Thankfulness Day 21

Today I am thankful for our flight benefits. We have been able to spend time with family and friends in other parts of the country more frequently over the years because of the benefits. I am most thankful for being able to use them to travel from Detroit to Sioux Falls, SD during my grandmother's last few months with us. Being able to share those days with her and the rest of my family will always be special to me.

Thankfulness Day 20

Today I am grateful that my husband has done such a great job of taking pictures over the years. He has made it so easy to remember all the great times.

Thankfulness Day 19

Today I am thankful to have found new friendship in an old friend. Christian and I were neighbors for a few years until I left Sioux City, IA when I was just 9 years old. 30 years later, I looked him up on Facebook and discovered that he lives 25 minutes away from us here in Michigan. We started talking through Facebook and quickly became friends. He and his wife invited us to their home and all discovered how much we have in common. Our sons enjoy playing together, too.

Thankfulness Day 18

Today I am thankful I have never felt the urge for Black Friday shopping. I am not a fan of total chaos no matter how much money I can save.

Thankfulness Day 17

Today I am thankful to be able to spend Thanksgiving Day with my husband, my son, my parents and my extended Michigan family. I am thankful for Al and Carynn for opening their home every year.

Thankfulness Day 16

Today I am thankful for an unexpected last minute visit from my parents. It is a long drive for them and I am so happy they made the sacrifice to spend it with us.

Thankfulness Day 15

Today I am thankful for Dr. Colleen Bullard and her staff. They have taken the fear out of dentistry for my husband, allowed my son to know that going to the dentist is necessary yet not scary, and are gentle in their care. They are willing to go the extra mile, they take time to get the whole picture before making recommendations and are always very pleasant on the phone and in person.

Thankfulness Day 14

Today I am thankful for Facebook for making it easier to stay in touch with friends, find and contact old friends and make new friends.

Thankfulness Day 13

Today I am thankful for my beautiful cousin, Mindy. Even though we are miles apart and don't see each other often, I know we will always be close. Today is her birthday and I hope it is a great day for her!!!

Thankfulness Day 12

Today I am thankful for my husband's large extended family. You all make it easier to be so far from my family. Thank you for welcoming me so warmly into your hearts and homes the last 10 years.

Today I am thankful, not only that I have a job in this economy, but also that I have a job I enjoy and the greatest coworkers a person could ask for.

Today I am thankful for my sense of hearing, to be able to enjoy my son's laughter, my husband whispering in my ear, and the ever present music I connect with on so many levels.

Today I am thankful for the food on our table, the roof over our heads and the love in our hearts.

Today I am thankful to have known my friend and coworker, Lori Furca. And for the great coworkers who are pulling together to get through this.

Today I am thankful for the men and women who have served this country to protect us and ensure our freedom, especially my husband Rick, who served in the Gulf War and my grandfather Wally, who served in World War II.
